About Me

Hey there!

My name is Mya Lwin, and I'm a senior (woo hoo!) at Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland.  I have a passion for food and a serious sweet tooth.  I LOVE to bake, and occasionally, I do some cooking, whenever it strikes my fancy.  I'm constantly dabbling into a variety of cuisines and experimenting with new ingredients and different cooking methods.

I work as a bakery assistant at an awesome company called Michele's Granola - a local, small-batch granola company based right here in Baltimore (Check it out!).  My ultimate goal in life is to start my own food business, probably a bakery, back in SE Asia, where I'm originally from.

So what does "Suan Tian Ku La" mean?

In Chinese, Suan Tian Ku La (酸甜苦辣) literally means "sour, sweet, bitter, spicy," but figuratively, it means "the joys and sorrows of life."  My intention is for this blog to be more than just about food; I'm hoping to also share tidbits and updates about myself and my life with everyone who cares to read this.  That said, I thought the name perfectly sums up exactly what I want to do with my blog venture.

You'll notice that most of what I make are baked goods and breakfast/brunch-y stuff, since that's my specialty.  But I've also been doing more and more cooking, so occasionally, I'll feature some savory lunch/dinner recipes.

So, I invite you to join me on my baking (and cooking) adventures, and please feel free to comment and give me suggestions!!  I'm always open to new ideas and feedback!
